Our Mission is to raise funds for cutting-edge neuroscience research on addiction, harm reduction initiatives in the community, and high school scholarship for kids, who persevered and graduated in spite of struggle with personal issues or illness.

We created this Foundation to remember Chris Wivholm, whose life was short but affected many. He had the biggest heart and was full of life.

3RD ANNUAL GOLF AND DINNER FUNDRAISER

Chris Wivholm Foundation is proud to hold Golf and Dinner and silent auction on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake, MN. 18 holes shot gun will start at 12 noon and dinner and silent auction event will start at 5pm. Deadline to purchase tickets is Monday, August 15, 2022!

 $9.9 MILLION GRANT TO ESTABLISH THE CENTER FOR NEURAL CIRCUITS IN ADDICTION

We would like to congratulate the University of Minnesota Neuroscience Department and the Medical Discovery Team on Addiction in the Medical School headed by Professor Mark Thomas for receiving the National Institutes on Drug Abuse (NIDA) grant in the amount of $9.9 million to establish the Center for Neural Circuits in Addiction. GIVING IN TIMES OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The Chris Wivholm Foundation is purchasing essential items that we will distribute to the treatment centers, clinics and to the most vulnerable.
Items in need include: hand sanitizers, disinfecting wipes, water and food items. If you are able, we ask you to donate online to help us to purchase these items. The items will be donated directly to Valhalla Place, Alliance Wellness Center, Adult and Teen Challenge, Minnesota Recovery Connection among many others. Thank you so much for your support!!

DONATION TO UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA

As a result of our 2nd annual breakfast event we donated $3,000 to the University of Minnesota Neuroscience Research – Medical Discovery Team on Addiction lead by Professor Mark Thomas. We are grateful to our supporters!

Thank you to all, who joined us at our breakfast event on January 25. It turned out to be a wonderful gathering, where participants were connected with each other in meaningful ways. Professor Mark Thomas was phenomenal as always and his presentation generated interesting discussion. We received positive feedback and, overall, the event was great success!

SATURDAY | MAY 18, 2019

As a result of our dinner, silent auction and fundraising events in May we were able to donate $7,000 to University of Minnesota Neuroscience Department Medical Discovery Team on Addiction. This was possible because of the donations received from our dinner and silent auction and fundraising events. The Medical Discovery Team on Addiction  examines how addictive drugs alter the brain and how these changes can lead to compulsive drug use.
